Recently, the State Intellectual Property Office approved the change of the name of China (Changzhou) intellectual property protection center to China (Changzhou) intellectual property protection center.
China (Changzhou) intellectual property protection center was approved for construction on December 30, 2016, which is the first intellectual property protection center approved for construction in China. Since its operation, the protection center has implemented patent navigation for industrial planning in 18 key industries, including intelligent hardware, rail transit vehicles, robots, new medical devices, and new energy vehicles, focusing on the construction of Changzhou's top ten industrial chains. It has updated 46 industry navigation early warning analysis reports, completed 3088 patent application services, and accepted 2043 patents. Among them, 1297 patents were prequalified, 970 patents were rapidly authorized, and more than two-thirds of invention patents were prequalified and authorized, and the average authorization period was shortened to three months. The protection center assisted the administrative organs in quickly handling 787 patent infringement disputes, investigating 1456 counterfeit patent cases and mediating 83 cases. 22 times of various types of intellectual property training, nearly 5000 people. In the comprehensive assessment of the national intellectual property protection center of the State Intellectual Property Organization in 2019, Changzhou Protection Center ranked first.
为进一步推动保护中心建设，实现更加高效、便捷、低成本的知识产权“一站式”服务，同时，也为与全国其他保护中心名称保持一致，常州保护中心更名申请获国家知识产权局批复同意。
下一步，中国（常州）知识产权保护中心将充分发挥保护中心职能, 紧扣地方产业发展需求 , 从人员、载体、业务等方面全面推进保护中心建设, 加快打造国内一流、特色鲜明的国家级知识产权协同保护平台。
目前，全省已有常州、南京、苏州、徐州、南通五家知识产权保护中心。
