The company, formerly known as Suzhou patent office, a public institution under Suzhou science and Technology Commission, was established in 1988. It is the first patent agency in Suzhou and one of the earliest intellectual property service agencies engaged in patent agency in China. In October 2000, it was transformed into Suzhou Chuangyuan patent and Trademark Office Co., Ltd. according to the regulations of the State Council.

The company has more than 90 employees, including 4 senior partners, 16 partners, 38 licensed patent agents and 4 legal practitioners. It is the "service industry benchmark enterprise" awarded by Suzhou Municipal People's government, the president unit of Suzhou intellectual property service industry chamber of Commerce, the national intellectual property service brand cultivation organization of the State Intellectual Property Office, the top 100 science and technology service organization of Jiangsu Province, and the director unit of China National Patent Agents Association.

By the end of 2019, the company has applied for more than 180000 Chinese patents, more than 5000 PCT international patents and foreign patents, more than 500 invalid patents, and more than 200 patent lawsuits for more than 6000 domestic and foreign applicants, including the European invention patent infringement disputes between Suzhou enterprises and sunstar of Japan, and a series of patent infringement disputes between Suzhou enterprises and Dyson of the United Kingdom. Development history:

In 1988, the first patent agency "Suzhou patent service department" was set up in Suzhou, located in the science and Technology Commission of Suzhou, yinmaqiao science and technology building, 91 Renmin Road, Suzhou,and works together with Suzhou patent office;

In 1992, "Suzhou patent service department" was decoupled from Suzhou science and Technology Commission and renamed "Suzhou patent office", and became a public institution subordinate to Suzhou science and Technology Commission;

In 2000, according to the regulations of the State Council, "Suzhou patent office" was restructured into "Suzhou Chuangyuan Patent Office Co., Ltd.";

In 2003, the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce approved that the company obtained the trademark agency qualification and changed its name to "Suzhou Chuangyuan patent and Trademark Office Co., Ltd.";

In 2004, the State Intellectual Property Office issued Notice No. 102, and the company obtained the qualification of foreign-related patent agency;

In 2006, it was awarded as the high quality and honest patent agency of Jiangsu Province by Jiangsu Patent Agent Association;

In 2007, the company moved its office address from yinmaqiao science and technology building, 91 Renmin Road, Suzhou to the fifth floor of Guotao business building, 93 Ganjiang West Road, Suzhou;

In 2009, it was recommended by Suzhou Intellectual Property Office as the cooperation unit of Suzhou intellectual property rights protection assistance;
